Warsaw Way of St. James starts from the Archcathedral of   Martyrdom of St. John the Baptist in Warsaw. For the first several kilometers it leads through the capital westwards. It is varied in numerous cultural monuments and places associated with events of Polish history, f.e. the Ghetto Uprising and the Warsaw Uprising. Behind Gołąbki, the trail enters the agricultural, black earth areas of the Mazowiecka Lowland, which continues through three subsequent stages. It runs along or near the railway line from Warsaw to Łowicz.
