Burgdorf-Guemligen

Today's stage will take us over a distance of 29.5 km with an estimated walking time of about 8.5 hours from Burgdorf to Bern. We can expect a demanding day's stage. We start the hike at Burgdorf train station heading south and, after about 1.0 km, reach Steinhof train station. Here we leave Burgdorf and follow the marked paths. The route today leads us over asphalt and natural paths. After about 10.0 km, we reach Krauchthal and begin to ascend after the village. At 854 m elevation, after about 14.5 km, we reach the highest point of the day's stage. We maintain this elevation for another 3.0 km. A short descent follows and after around 19.5 km we arrive in Boll. The path continues over fields, through forests, and around Ostermundigen. We cross the railway tracks and the highway and shortly before crossing the Aare, we reach the Bear Park in Bern.
