After leaving the valley floor of the Vorderrhein at Domat/Ems, today's section ends again in the valley floor in Trun, which here lies about 250 meters higher than in Domat/Ems below the Rhine Gorge.
We are here in the Surselva (above the forest), in an area that heavily relies on tourism and enjoys the fortunate situation of having both a summer and a winter season. We pilgrims are only a small part of the summer segment, which ranges from alpine climbing to all kinds of flight versions from paragliding to actual gliders, all variations on foot and then also all variations in and on the alpine waters. The Surselva is therefore oriented towards tourism, and that in all price ranges.
Anmerkungen
The pilgrimage route Via Son Giachen leads from South Tyrol through the Val Müstair in the canton of Graubünden towards Central Switzerland or Valais. The partly alpine pilgrimage trail is only fully accessible during the warm seasons.

Those traveling on a pilgrim budget would do well to inform themselves in time. Sleeping outdoors at this altitude can become unpleasant even during the summer months.
