Today Basel is known as a city of fairs and museums, but also as a city of humanists, trade, and the pharmaceutical industry. Less known is Basel as a pilgrimage city. For pilgrims, the Basel Rhine bridge was once an important crossing. This tour through Basel's historic old town begins and ends at the "Schifflände" on the Grossbasel bridgehead of the "Mittlere Brücke." The tour lasts about 40 minutes and covers a distance of 2.4 km. It is an easy walk.
Today we pass the following sights: Fish Market, Andreas Chapel, Barfüsser Church, Market Square, Town Hall, Peters Church, Prediger Church

Basel serves as the starting point for the Basler Way, which will take us from Basel to Burgdorf / Bern. We are on the Swiss Jacob's Ways.
