Info
Today we are also in a beautiful and therefore popular hiking area. From some heights, there is a view as far as Lake Constance; we also get closer to the young Rhine, which here in Eastern Switzerland partly forms the border with the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Austrian state of Vorarlberg.
When leaving Western Switzerland, we switched to the German-speaking part of Europe and mentioned that we are largely confronted with dialects. Already in Toggenburg we find an example of a sonorous dialect, and the Appenzellers increase the experience value by 1-2 levels.
The stage town Urnäsch lies on the eponymous stream. There, once again, enjoy remarkable, colorful wooden houses from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Note(s)
The "Jerusalem Way / JERUSALEM WAY" is a network of pilgrimage routes that leads pilgrims from Central Europe to Jerusalem. Jerusalem, along with Rome and Santiago de Compostela, is one of the 3 most important Christian pilgrimage destinations of the Middle Ages. This route begins at Cape Finisterre on the western shore of Europe and leads either through Italy or along the Danube through the Balkans to Turkey, and from there again on a common route to Jerusalem.
