To the next section Wattwil - Urnäsch

Today's stage takes us eastwards and is still relatively flat in the first part in the St. Gallen lakes district, then begins to rise in the second part and leads us up to the Laad Pass, which reaches its highest point at Heid. From there, we then descend to the stage location of Wattwil in the St. Gallen valley "Toggenburg" on the upper reaches of the Thur. The lovely landscape, the view of the mountains and the Obersee as well as later the Toggenburg houses make this route a hiking paradise and will remain a fond memory for us.

The "Jerusalem Way / JERUSALEM WAY" is a network of pilgrimage routes that leads pilgrims from Central Europe to Jerusalem. Jerusalem, together with Rome and Santiago de Compostela, is one of the three most important Christian pilgrimage destinations of the Middle Ages. This route starts at Cape Finisterra on the western coast of Europe and leads either through Italy or along the Danube through the Balkans to Turkey, and from there on a common route to Jerusalem.
