Allaman - Lausanne

In the second part of the stage, we enjoy the promenade along Lake Geneva, interrupted by towns, boat harbors, castles, and fortresses, and savor the view of Lake Geneva with its swans and ships and beyond that, the Savoy Alps.

However, once we get close to Lausanne, the peaceful hiking comes to an end, as Lausanne is a bustling university city, where you also encounter many young people and a lot of traffic. Our stage ends in the center of Lausanne at the Notre Dame Cathedral.

The "Jerusalem Way / JERUSALEM WAY" is a pilgrimage route network that leads pilgrims from Central Europe to Jerusalem. Jerusalem, along with Rome and Santiago de Compostela, is one of the three most important Christian pilgrimage destinations of the Middle Ages. This route starts at Cape Finisterra on Europe's west coast and leads either through Italy or along the Danube through the Balkans to Turkey, and from there again on a common route to Jerusalem.

From Lausanne, there is a second option to reach Jerusalem via Rome. This route is documented so far up to Rome via the Via Francigena.
