Werthenstein Monastery
We largely avoid the heavy traffic in Luzern by leaving the city on the flank of Sonneberg towards Kriens. At the gorge between Sonneberg and Blatterberg, we cross over into the wide valley of the Kleine Emme and follow it up to the Werthenstein monastery. For the rest of this first section of the Luzernerweg to Burgdorf, we then mostly enjoy "pure nature".
Anmerkungen
This tour is a cycling variant for one of the Jakobswege in Switzerland. It largely follows the marked pilgrimage route but also includes alternative drivable paths when the original route is not very "bike-friendly" and alternatives are available. Therefore, the route is not suitable for racing bikes.
