Guarda-Zernez

This stage takes us back to the valley floor of the Lower Engadin, where, after the sunny terraces of the previous day, today we will briefly get to know the shady side of the valley, literally meant. We hike along the Inn to Zernez. Since pilgrims are allowed to reflect on many things, here is a suggestion for this stage: the Inn, still young here, slender, lively and dynamic, has its long life journey ahead of it. It gradually becomes calmer and wider and will later unite with the Danube in Passau, after which both will find their rest at the end of their journey in the Black Sea...

The stage location Zernez is a hub for travelers in this region. Here the axes from the Upper Engadin meet those from South Tyrol via the Ofen Pass as well as downstream from the Lower Engadin, the Flüela northwards to the rest of Switzerland, and from the exit of the Lower Engadin to Tyrol. A stage location to meet people from different areas, and then probably to continue traveling in different directions.
