Besides the stage town, Grömitz is one of the larger towns on the route, so if we need something a bit out of the ordinary, one should find it here. Our today's stage ends in «Neustadt in Holstein», there at the town church.
Note(s)
Just before the campsite, at the exit of Kagelbusch, the path, now a private road of the campsite, descends gently down to the beach. For about 500 m, it now continues along the beach heading south until a path leads right to the beach café "Seeräubernest". After a few steps, it continues again on the path above the beach. Trail signs indicate the new route before the turning/leaving.
The Via Scandinavica offers a connection along a migratory bird route from the Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn to northern Germany. Via Lübeck, Lüneburg, Celle, Hannover, and Göttingen, the path continues to the border area between Thüringen and Hessen, from where routes lead us towards Santiago de Compostela, Rome, and Jerusalem.
