Even during today's stage we are accompanied by the Pleisse, along which we have been pilgrimaging for quite some time, sometimes directly along the river course, sometimes taking shortcuts when the Pleisse meanders. We are currently hiking in the state of Thuringia, but shortly before the end of the stage, we will enter Saxony again. The stage town Crimmitschau is a typical industrial town from the 19th century, where textiles were predominantly produced at that time. Our path ends at the town administration and the town hall on the marketplace.

In Zwickau, the Saxon Way of St. James also ends at the marketplace and from here to Hof it is called "Jakobsweg Vogtland." Most will probably continue pilgrimaging on this way.

The "Via Imperii" runs from Stettin (Szczecin) on the border between Poland and Germany in a southwestern direction to Hof on the border between Germany and the Czech Republic, connecting Stettin with Berlin, Wittenberg, Leipzig, Zwickau and, of course, Hof. Along the way, the Via Imperii crosses a number of further pilgrimage routes.
