Nonnenhorn
The further Way of St. James to Einsiedeln does not have to go via Konstanz, but is also possible via St. Gallen: From Brochenzell via Meckenbeuren with the church of St. Maria to Tettnang with the church of St. Gallus, Baroque castle of the Counts of Montfort and voluntary pilgrim hostel in the St. Georgs Chapel. Leaving Tettnang past the Gothic St. Anna Chapel to the south, through forest area and with a steep descent into the beautiful Argental, over the Gießen bridge to Gießen and to Gießen Castle. Past a Roman settlement via Heiligenhof on Eltenberg and the Berger Weiher nature reserve along through Atlashofen and Hüttmannsberg to Gattnau, a district of Kressbronn. Across fields to the Antonius Chapel in Selmnau. Through Hattnau further to Nonnenhorn with the church of St. Christophorus and late Gothic St. Jakobus Chapel.
From Nonnenhorn it is possible to take the ship via Lindau or Friedrichshafen to Konstanz, see stage 8. Or Lake Constance is crossed directly to Rorschach. From there the Way of St. James continues on the Swiss Via Jacobi via St. Gallen and Wattwil to Rapperswil and Einsiedeln.
