Bad Waldsee
Through fields and forests past the Bildstöckle of the Protective Mantle Madonna to Winterstettenstadt with the Church of St. George. Past the memorial stone, Schenkenburg castle ruins, and the hamlet of Stadelhof, along the forest edge past Eligius Chapel to Oberessendorf. Extensive field and forest paths lead to the hamlets of Hebershaus and Mittishaus. From here, a variant via the St. James Church in Eggmannsried is recommended, from where it goes over Graben and Haisterkirch to Bad Waldsee. Without the variant, following the original Jakobsweg, the route passes through the hamlet of Mattenhaus, the Erwin Hymer Museum, and past the golf course to Bad Waldsee. Along the shore of the town lake, it goes to the former Augustinian canons' collegiate church of St. Peter with its double towers twisted at an angle. Bad Waldsee lies on the Upper Swabian Baroque Route and is known as a moor health spa and Kneipp spa, characterized by its medieval old town and the idyllic location between the town lake and castle lake. The Franciscan monastery Reute, 5 kilometers away, with the pilgrimage site of the blessed Good Beth, is a worthwhile detour featuring a monastery garden, monastery bakery, and pilgrim beds.
