Pilgrimage - in an idyllic forest ravine
The stage location Röhrda is also referred to as the "mill town". This is due to the fact that the springs at Aschenborn and Martinsborn are so abundant that 6 mills could be operated on the short paths down to the Netra - hence the nickname.
The small but charming town of Röhrda once had two churches, namely the Martinskirche, of which only the ruins remain today, and the church "Peter and Paul", on the site of which the parish church now stands.
The town center was recently refreshed and the renovated half-timbered houses create a charming atmosphere.
Three Elisabeth paths lead as ecumenical pilgrimage routes to the burial church of Saint Elisabeth in Marburg. We use one of these 3 pilgrimage routes to travel from Eisenach to Marburg as a stage towards Santiago.
The stages suggested in this documentation are proposals that each pilgrim can adapt to their wishes. However, the technical data always assumes that these stages are completed in one day each.
