Even during today's stage, we are accompanied by the Pleisse, along which we have been pilgrimaging for quite some time, sometimes directly along the river course, sometimes also taking shortcuts when the Pleisse meanders. We are currently hiking in the federal state of Thuringia, but shortly before the end of the stage, we will cross back into Saxony. The stage town Crimmitschau is a typical industrial town from the 19th century, where mainly textiles were produced at that time. Our route ends at the city administration and the town hall at the marketplace.

The "Via Imperii" runs from Stettin (Szczecin) on the border between Poland and Germany in a southwesterly direction to Hof on the border between Germany and the Czech Republic and connects Stettin with Berlin, Wittenberg, Leipzig, Zwickau, and Hof. In doing so, the Via Imperii crosses a number of further pilgrimage routes.
