Pilgrimage - you endure yourself
In our context is also the Elisabeth Church in Marburg, the burial church of Saint Elisabeth. Anyone who wants to pilgrimage to this church will reach their destination today.
Landgravine Elisabeth of Thuringia, also called Elisabeth of Hungary here in Marburg, is a saint of the Catholic Church. The feast day of the patroness of Thuringia and Hesse falls on November 19, the day of her burial. As a symbol of active charity, the saint is also venerated in Protestantism.
However, whoever has walked this Elisabeth path in order to reach the Way of St. James Marburg-Vézelay from the ecumenical pilgrimage route will probably want to pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and thus has a long way ahead. This stage description ends in front of the Elisabeth Church.
Three Elisabeth paths lead as ecumenical pilgrimage routes to the burial church of Saint Elisabeth in Marburg. We use one of these 3 pilgrimage routes to get from Eisenach to Marburg as a stage towards Santiago.
The stages in this documentation are suggestions that each pilgrim can customize according to their wishes. However, the technical data always assumes that these stages are completed within one day each.
