At Dreye, we’ll turn south, leaving the Weser behind. We’ll cross the Ochtum tributary and enter the large municipality of Weyhe with its various districts. Here we come close to the Hache, a tributary of the Ochtum. However, we won’t cross the Hache until just before arriving at our destination for the day, Barrien. There, our route tracking ends at St. Bartholomäus Church.
Note(s)
The pilgrimage route along the southern shore of the Baltic Sea has various names; in Germany, for example, it is also known as the “Baltic-Westphalian Way of St. James.” From Poland eastward, the name “Pomeranian Way of St. James” is commonly used. In this guide, we’ll stick with the transnational name “Via Baltica”—partly because of its brevity, and partly because pilgrims heading to Rome or even Jerusalem can also use it.
