Church of Alt Bukow, near the pilgrim hostel

The environment has taken its toll on him, but he is still standing
This stage, somewhat away from the coast, is very varied. Especially good ratings from locals and tourists are given to the "beautiful Hellbach Valley" right at the beginning of this stage up to Buschmühlen. After crossing the Hellbach to the west, the wind turbines driven by the constant Baltic Sea wind will demonstrate to us that "renewable energies" are being massively promoted in this area.

On the way: Path of virtues and values
The stage town Wismar was already early incorporated into the Hanseatic League; many buildings in the old town still bear witness to the prosperity achieved then. The old towns of Wismar and Stralsund were jointly inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in June 2002. Thanks to the local university with over 8,000 students, Wismar is also a city with a lot of youth. We will be able to enjoy Wismar.

Note(s)
The pilgrim route along the southern shore of the Baltic Sea has different names, for example in Germany it is also called "Baltic-Westphalian Way of St. James". From Poland eastwards, the designation "Pomeranian Way of St. James" is common. In this documentation, we remain with the cross-border name "Via Baltica", partly because of its brevity, and also because pilgrims to Rome or even Jerusalem can also use it.
