soon we say goodbye to the hosts of the Gîte
Soon after leaving Le Pin, we reach Chassigneux, and shortly afterwards we come to the Charterhouse "Ancienne Abbaye Chartreuse de Sylve Bénite," which is now privately owned and cannot be visited. Before reaching Le Grand-Lemps, we cross a hill that offers a view of the Plaine de Bièvre with the Grenoble airport. After Gillonnay, our path passes by Chateau Louis XI and leads into La Côte-Saint-André, the birthplace of the composer Hector Berlioz.
The Berlioz Festival, which takes place every August, is not a good time for pilgrims to come through, as accommodations are usually fully booked then.
The Via Gebennensis connects the Swiss pilgrimage routes from Geneva with the Via Podiensis, which begins in Le Puy-en-Velay and leads westwards from there to the Pyrenees.
The sights of La Côte-Saint-André include the Berlioz Museum, Les Halles, and the Church of St. André.
Guten Tag
