Mosonmagyaròvàr-Rajka

We start in the city center of Mosonmagyaróvár, at the Piarist Church. We leave the city via the old castle grounds and continue on the embankment of the Lajta River. We walk several kilometers on the embankment and follow the parallel field path. Later, we turn sharply right and leave the embankment. Next, we pass the «Paprét-Lajtapuszta» poultry farm and through agricultural land, reaching the village of Bezenye. At the edge of the village, we cross a wooden bridge built from boards, entering the village inhabited by Hungarians, Germans, and Croats. The main attraction of the village is the Catholic church, in whose outer wall a cannon barrel is embedded. From here, we continue on the straight path behind the village and can already see the town of Rajka from afar. In Rajka, we visit the Martins Church. In front of the church, the Martins and Jakobs paths unite.

The Jakobs path in Hungary from Budapest to Wolfsthal runs continuously on the western or southern side of the Danube. Wolfsthal is located slightly southwest of Bratislava, so the continuation of the path westward from Wolfsthal also becomes a route for pilgrims coming from Slovakia.

From Mosonmagyaróvár to Rajka, there are no tourist markings accompanying us, so we follow the Jakobs path markings. Within the village, we continue following the Jakobs path markings, again combined with the Martins path markings, the yellow stripes.
