Those who can take a more relaxed approach to this path's beginning can also choose this variant and split the first stage. This variant is also recommended in winter.

The Camino Francés begins in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port at the French foot of the Pyrenees and ends in Santiago de Compostela. It is the busiest section of all the Camino routes, as most pilgrims eventually come to Santiago along this axis.
