Pilgrim on horseback at Santiago Airport
At Monte Do Gozo we first pass a campsite, and then the local hostel, which is really designed for very large crowds of pilgrims. What remains is freshening up, the cathedral in Santiago, the nearby pilgrim office where the Compostela is issued, and then sightseeing and pampering yourself, "you don't usually treat yourself" - felicidades.
The Camino Francés begins in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port at the French foot of the Pyrenees and ends in Santiago de Compostela. It is the most frequented section of all the pilgrimage routes, as most pilgrims eventually come to Santiago via this axis.
Besides the "pilgrim barracks" Monte do Gozo, accommodations can also be found in the center of Santiago, although somewhat more expensive.
