Dalpe-Airolo

From Dalpe, it goes down to the village of Prato Leventina with a beautiful view over Prato Leventina with the church of San Giorgio and the valley of Leventina to Quinto. Via a path surrounded by dry stone walls, it goes up briefly and then continues through the forest above Rodi-Fiesso, partly on a Vitaparcours. (Above Fiesso, you reach the Via Gottardo No. 7 of Schweiz Mobil, which you can follow to Airolo.) About 1.5 km after Fiesso, it goes down to the field name Tre Capelli and under the railway and motorway to Quinto with the Church of Ss Pietro e Paulo. Then the path leads about 50m above the valley floor with a beautiful view of Amri and Piotta to the Ritom power plant with the valley station of the funicular, which goes up to Piora and Lake Ritom. There the path crosses the Ticino river and leads between it and the motorway to Ponte Sort, where the motorway crosses the Ticino. However, the hiking trail remains on the other side of the river for a while, follows the railway for about 1 km, before the motorway is crossed underneath shortly before Stalvedro (motorway service station). Then follows a short ascent and descent before you cross the Ticino shortly before Airolo and reach the village.
