St-Maurice - Matigny

This section (canton Wallis) takes us along the Rhone valley to Martigny. There are less sgihtseeings which allows us to focus on hiking and philosophing. We walk along the right side of the valley and pass a waterfall just behind Miéville, which is sourced by a power station. Impressing specially at times when they are producing electricity. Its name is «Pissevache». In order to find out what this name means, we recommend talking to natives. Once we reach Martigny, we pass bellow the Batiaz Caslte which characterizes the town of Martigny . A few steps later, we reach an old, wooden bridge crossing the Dranse Creek, beeing our companion to the frontier between Switzerland and Italy.
