Mogilno's history has been connected with monastic life from the very beginning. From the mid In the 11th century, the Benedictine abbey was here until partitions, and in 2014 it was settled again by the Capuchins. In the monastery operates the European Meeting Center "Wojciech - Adalbert", where pilgrims can find accommodation and even rest for several days. Monastic church of St. John the Baptist is proud of the oldest Romanesque crypt in Poland - it dates back to the 12th century. Near the sixteenth-century church of St. James two Ways of St.James join: Camino Polaco leading from the border with Lithuania and the Greater Poland Way leading southwestwards. The purpose of the current stage, Trzemeszno, was the first burial place of St. Adalbert. The famous Warsaw shoemaker and insurgent - Jan Kiliński came from this city.
