This stage begins at the gate of the Archbishops' Palace in Krakow, and then leads through Krakow's Planty towards the Wawel Hill. Arriving at the intersection with ul. Podzamcze, we can choose one of the two route options - through Wawel, and then towards the non-existent church of St. James or a variant bypassing the Wawel Hill. Both variants converge on the ramparts behind the Dębnicki Bridge, from where the road leads along the Vistula river walking and cycling route to the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec. In the Zygmunt's chapel in the archcathedral of St. Stanisława B.M. and St. Wacław on Wawel is a beautiful statue of St. James the Elder Apostle. The buildings of the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec are located within the Bielańsko-Tyniecki Landscape Park. There are steep limestone slopes here, forming a picturesque gorge of the Vistula river under the abbey.
