The trail runs through flat, little diversified agricultural areas and small forest areas. In the vicinity of Kruszwica, the trail runs along the bottom of a wide valley of meltwater of the ice sheet. After crossing the Vistula River in Toruń, the trail passes through Kujawy - a historical and ethnographic region. The oldest monuments of Romanesque architecture (from the 11th and 12th centuries) can be found in Kujawy. In Kujawy there is a large part of the historical and sightseeing trail called the "Piast Trail", which runs through Strzelno and Kruszwica, among others.
