We leave Pfaffenhofen again westwards, cross Rietz and then come to Stams, where the impressive Stams Abbey awaits us. It was Count Meinhard II of Görz-Tirol who founded a monastery here in 1273, which in future was also to serve as a burial place for his family. Stams is also known for its boarding school for skiers, a cadre forge that has produced many well-known athletes.

At Haiming we cross the Inn and meet the Magerbach rafting center on the north bank, which benefits from the clear water of the racy Inn and the unique Alpine panorama. This is where the journey through the wild Imst Gorge ends - an Eldorado for rafters and canoeists.
