We leave Piacenza along the Via Emilia Parmense, and will not see major villages on our way until we reach our destination. However, we will see e few rivers while hiking across enormous acres; these rivers will represent the changes of the day that simplifies to focus on hiking and philosophing.
The name of our destination, Fiorenzuola, dates back to a pilgrim's name, a pilgrim on his way to Rome during the 6th century - Florence de Tours, who is said to have done miracles here. 800 years later, a church was built with his name. Furthermore the Swedish King Eric Svendsson built a hospice here for Scandinavian pilgrims.
