Farewell to the Gîte de Beaumont

Pomier: former Carthusian monastery
Shortly after the start we pass by Pomier, an old Carthusian monastery (Chartreuse de Pomier). The building is still well maintained and is currently used for events such as weddings, birthdays or conferences.
Shortly after that we come to Col Sion, from where we have another view back to Geneva. The Lake Geneva is called "Lac Léman" in French, and the area up here is therefore also called "Balcon du Léman." Our stage destination Chaumont lies on a height, is an old trading place, and is worth a visit.
The Via Gebennensis connects the Swiss pilgrimage routes from Geneva with the Via Podiensis, which starts in Le Puy-en-Velay and from there leads westwards to the Pyrenees.
