Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Campagnano di Roma

Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Campagnano di Roma

Our start today is still in the province of Viterbo, however the destination already is in the province of Rome, a reliable indication that we are approaching the end of our pilgrimage, step by step. Yesterday, we passed by the Lago di Vico on our left hand side, but today, we really visit a lake on that same side, it's the small «Lago Di Monterosi», however we will leave two larger lakes on our right hand side even without a «hello», their names are Lago di Braccino and Lago di Martignano.

Shortly after the small lake, we will encounter the only village on the trail, it's Monterosi. Once we reach today's destination, we will access Campagnano Di Roma through the main gate called Porta Romana. This is a nice, small village, and it will not take us much time to explore it, This leaves us sufficient time to stretch our legs and cure our feet, and to prepare mentally for Rome which we will reach soon be reaching.

Note(s)

The «Via Francigena» is one of the 3 main christian pilgrimage trails of the Middle Ages, the main axis leading from Canterbury to Rome. This documentation currently covers the most frequented section from Lausanne to Rome.
